Pitfall – Discography ’99

January 31st, 2010 by

Pitfall originated from Newcastle in 1994, disbanding in 1997. This is their complete discography, the latter half being live recordings. Includes covers of Black Flag, Sick of It All, Integrity and Dag Nasty.

  Pitfall - Discography '99 (47.6 MiB, 4,633 hits)

Their biography by XLuke CrewX (from liner notes):

Pitfall formed in late 1994 with the original line up of Rod (guitar), Brad (drums), Dave (bass), Shane (guitar) and Ant (vocals). They played about 4 shows with that line up until September ’95 when they asked me to sing. A week after our first jam together I went in and recorded the vocals for “Brother. I’d never sung in a band before, but right away I knew I was fucking hooked. November 10 we did our first show with the new line up, my first show. It was Newcastle’s fabled venue, the Hunter on Hunter, with Subversion, Mindcrack, Anomie and Nihilist. The two live songs on this CD from that night were recorded on a hand held tape recorder by Craig Edge and are included here for historical purposes rather than musical quality! What happened between that night and our last ever show on March 1, 1997 at the Sydney Hardcore Superbowl is a fucking blur of (mostly) fun shows and great times. I do remember aquiring Jamie Hay (now of Conation “fame”!) on second guitar in September ’96 and I also remember our style evolving from the early melodic HC sound to a heavier, more ‘moshcore’ style of HC in the later days. I think I can speak on behalf of the rest of the guys when I say that our highlight was our last ever Newcastle show, the Hardcore Superbowl on February 28, ’97 at the now defunct Tatts Club. I’ll never forget the outright intensity and energy of all those kids dancing and singing along to us that night for as long as I live. We couldn’t have asked for a better farewell party. I’d just like to thank Joel ‘Thinking Positive’ for putting this thing out, all the kids who still care and all the great bands and people we met along the way. Pitfall… “A time we’ll remember”.
